Welcome to the website of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Postulancy and Novitiate
This stage is a time to solidify the training of young women as Catholics who want to be Little Sisters. This formation period, which usually lasts for six months, takes place in our convent, designated by the Congregation.
It is a time of transition, generally lasting about nine months. The applicant
shares daily life in our home before moving on to the novitiate.
After several months, the postulante enters the novitiate. The novitiate is an intense two years of period of prayer and religious life. it culminates in profession of the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and hospitality for
two years. The Novitiate in Far East Asia designated by the Congregation is in Bolinao, Philippines.
